Lismore Welding
When a weld fails, everything stops. Whether it’s a cracked trailer frame, a broken bracket or a structural join under pressure, quality welding makes the difference between patch jobs and permanent fixes. That’s why people turn to North Coast Steel Fabrication. Based in Lismore, we offer precision welding both in our workshop and on-site—so if it’s not practical to bring it to us, we’ll bring the welder to you. From heavy-duty structural work to finer stainless and aluminium jobs, we’ve got the experience, tools and mobility to get it done fast, clean and safe.

On-Site or In-Shop Welding
We know welding’s not always a one-location job. Some repairs need to happen where the gear is, whether that’s out on a rural property, up on scaffolding or inside a workshop. That’s why we offer mobile welding across the Lismore region, fully equipped for structural, maintenance and fabrication work on the spot.
We also run a clean, well-equipped workshop for projects that need a controlled setup—great for fabricating new assemblies, prepping joints or working with stainless and aluminium. Our team works to Australian standards with MIG, TIG and stick welding, depending on the material and conditions.
Whatever the job, we’ll choose the right technique to get it done safely and securely. Call

What type of welding is best for outdoor repairs?
For outdoor welding—especially where the metal is thicker or the surface is less than perfect—stick welding (SMAW) is often preferred. It’s less affected by wind and surface contaminants, making it ideal for site work, fencing, gates and heavy structural repairs. For more precise or corrosion-resistant work, MIG or TIG may be used depending on the conditions.
Can aluminium and stainless steel be welded?
Yes, but they require specialised equipment and experience. Aluminium needs different filler wire and shielding gases than mild steel, and is more sensitive to heat distortion. TIG welding is usually the go-to for clean, precise results on aluminium and stainless, especially for decorative or high-strength applications like toolboxes, panels or handrails.
How do mobile welding services work?
Mobile welding means the welder brings their equipment to your site. It’s ideal for repairs or installs where the item is fixed in place or too large to transport. Jobs are quoted upfront, and the welder arrives with a generator, tools and safety gear ready to work. It’s commonly used for farming gear, fences, trailers, heavy machinery and structural steel fixes.
